A number of Australian government departments, non-government agencies and companies have formed partnerships with the AFL or provide funding to assist in the development and delivery of a range of AFL programs at different levels of the game.
On behalf of the Australian Government, the Australian Sports Commission plays a central leadership role in the development and operation of the Australian sports system, administering and funding innovative sport programs and providing leadership, coordination and support for the sports sector.
The AFL gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Australian Government for AFL Game Development Programs through the ASC. This includes annual grants for Sport Development (coaching, umpiring and community club programs), the Indigenous Sport Program, Sport CONNECT and the AIS/AFL Academy.
