How can I become an umpire?
Training for most local umpiring groups is run twice a week at a specified training facility with qualified coaches to assist in your development as an umpire.
The AFL Umpire Pathway Program assists umpires to achieve their potential and provides the opportunity for those umpires wishing to one day umpire in the AFL.
The pathway is a staged approach to an umpire's development and ensures the standard of football the umpire is officiating in is matched by the umpire's competencies.
The pathway is also aligned with the playing pathway which allows greater integration between playing and umpiring.
